Social Enterprise/Charity Shop volunteer assistant
Shop Locations: Honiton, Heavitree, Exeter and Sidmouth
WESC Foundation operates three charity shops with our Social Enterprise Department, with the prime objective of giving our blind and visually impaired young people the opportunity to gain real work experience in real working environments, improve their self-confidence by direct social interactions with the public and help build independence from travelling and working outside of our campus.
Can you help?
We need dedicated volunteers to work alongside our Shop Manager/Trainers, who are willing to help with the day-today operational tasks. These would include; selection, preparation and presentation of donations, pricing and rotation of stock, direct customer service and promoting our organisation while working alongside our learners.
Previous experience is not essential to this role as full support and training will be given. We recognise that everyone is different and what one person is happy to do another may not be; this is why we only ask our volunteers to do tasks that they are happy to undertake.
Volunteering within our shops is not only extremely rewarding, it is fun! Apart from contributing to the development of our blind and visually impaired young people, it is a great way to meet new people, learn new skills and enjoy new experiences.
If you would like to know more about volunteering within our shops please contact Andrew Roberts on 01392 454330 or email: firstname.lastname@example.org.
