We provide a comprehensive suite of specialist services including education, care and complementary therapies for children, young people and adults who are visually impaired and, in a majority of cases, also have other complex needs.
We continue to strive to be at the forefront of developments in the VI sector and actively support and promote this through our own Research and Development department. We offer extensive provision including full time, part time, day, residential (38 week and 52 week), respite and split placements (with mainstream establishments).
Our Adult Service supports adults towards independent living and work including living in the community through our Landlord Supported Housing provision.
We not only offer services on our 14 acre site in Exeter but also through Outreach Services where we currently support pupils with sight loss in 40 mainstream schools.
You will see from our varied list of services we meet ‘total place’ service delivery which is increasingly being requested by commissioning agencies.
We take every effort to ensure that the provision we offer is appropriate to the individual and offers a value for money proposition for commissioning services including Local Authorities, Social Services and Continuing Health Care.
We currently have placements agreed with over 25 Local Authorities within the UK.
We are also very keen to discuss how WESC can help you to deliver your VI provision within your organisation and also to explore new and alternative methods of delivery where appropriate.
