Residential care for young adults
WESC Foundation has a specialist residential centre called St David’s House which offers up to 20 young adults an individualised care package and enrichment programme that supports independence, develops daily living skills, and helps people access leisure, social and vocational opportunities in the local community.
About the accommodation
St David’s House offers an adapted, visual impairment friendly environment, in three separate lodges – Ash, Maple and Mulberry. Each lodge has an adapted kitchen, a large lounge space, adapted bathrooms, and access to sensory spaces. Bedrooms are adapted with hoists and specialist equipment to meet the needs of each individual, and our aim is to create a homely and personalised environment whilst also delivering specialist care.
Life at WESC Foundation
The emphasis in St David’s House is on offering a full and active life, making use of the facilities available on the WESC Foundation campus, as well as accessing a huge range of activities and services in the local community using our fleet of adapted vehicles. Activities are planned around the wishes of each individual and the staff team are incredibly responsive and flexible to ensure that each person is living the life they choose.
St David’s House is registered with the Care Quality Commission as a provider of accommodation for people who require personal care with nursing. WESC Foundation employs a team of care staff that support and enable the young people 24/7 throughout the year.
