WESC supporter hikes Hadrian’s Wall!

WESC Foundation’s amazing supporter, David Sherwood, has set himself the challenge of completing 1,206 miles of hiking, the equivalent of walking from Land’s End to John O’Groats and back, to raise money for WESC Foundation!

His route has included the Shropshire Six Summits (37 miles), Ben Nevis (4,411 ft), Scafell Pike (3,209 ft), Snowdon (3,560 ft), Mount Tiede (12,198 ft) and he has just finished a mammoth trek of 85 miles hiking Hadrian’s Wall!

David started the Hadrian’s Wall walk at Wallsend in Newcastle on Sunday 23rd July at 2pm and finished on Thursday 27th July at Bowness-on-Solway 1pm….walking for 5 days!

David said: “I walked Hadrian’s Wall all on my own and in total I walked 96 miles after a bit of sight-seeing, diversions and getting lost a few times…I even collected £25 cash on route from passers-by!

“It’s great to be able to raise money for such a worthy cause that makes such a difference to the lives of visually impaired children”.

David will be concluding his monumental trek in April/May 2018 by hiking to Everest Base Camp (17,598 ft).
