WESC Foundation’s College Ofsted Inspection January 2021
17 March 2021
WESC Foundation welcomes the publication of Ofsted’s report following a monitoring visit for the College in January 2021.
The WESC Foundation College Ofsted report acknowledges that “leaders and managers have dealt with many of the weaknesses identified during the [November 2018] inspection” and that “secure plans [are] in place to improve the others”.
Inspectors learned about the significant work to develop and implement our new curriculum that has “a clear focus on developing independence, communication skills and making personal choices” as well as being “broad, well structured and aspirational”.
The inspection also looked favourably on how we have supported our college students at home during COVID-19, and how we support individual need and behaviours more generally.
Matt Smith, Director of Education, said:
“The whole WESC Foundation team has been working hard to address the shortcomings identified in the last inspection, and I am delighted that Ofsted have acknowledged the progress we have made.
“We are clear about the next steps required to continue the improvement of the College, and look forward to being able to share more of this progress with Ofsted at the next full inspection”.
