WESC Foundation School Ofsted Report 2021
29 April 2021
A report published today by schools’ regulator Ofsted shows that WESC Foundation’s special school continues to make progress since the last full inspection in December 2019.
Inspectors visited the school for a two day, additional, monitoring visit in March 2021.
Ofsted found that rapid and swift action since the last inspection has led to improvements across areas including safeguarding, the curriculum and multi-disciplinary working.
There was also praise for the remote learning offer available to all our students during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Director of Education Matt Smith welcomed the news. He said:
“We are all delighted that Ofsted have recognised the transformation that has taken place during the past 18 months.
“I am especially proud of the WESC Foundation staff who have helped to drive positive change in our school whilst also coping with the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Monitoring visits allow Ofsted to inspect schools, make judgements and publish reports. They do not change the grade of a particular provision.
