University of Exeter answers our call for volunteers
7 August 2019
Staff from the University of Exeter visited WESC Foundation to help put the finishing touches on a special garden for the children and young adults who live and study at the charity’s Exeter site.
Colleagues from across academic colleges and professional services spotted a call for volunteers in the University’s staff newsletter and subsequently spent a day with Dylan Cheshire, Horticulture Project Manager of our Exeter campus “Discovery Garden”. Their digging, painting, weeding and mulch spreading skills were put to good use to help develop social spaces for the visually impaired children and young adults at WESC Foundation, and they also learned a lot about different plants and trees around the site.
This has been the latest in a series of visits by teams of volunteers from the University of Exeter, and built on work by members of the Policy, Planning and Business Intelligence team who spent a day at WESC Foundation earlier in the summer.
