Local support for our COVID-19 Keyworkers

30 April 2020

WESC Foundation is being topped=up with supplies of hand sanitiser, cleaning tablets and PPE thanks to the support of local businesses.

Local distillers Exeter Gin are supplying hand sanitiser to WESC Foundation’s frontline workers and special disinfectant tablets donated by the HOCL Trust have helped the charity keep going at a time when stock is hard to come by. Tiverton High School has now also offered to donate 50 face visors made by staff in its design and technology team.

WESC Foundation’s education, care and support staff have been working throughout the COVID-19 pandemic to support the charity’s most vulnerable children and young adults. All have visual impairment and other additional and complex needs, and many live at the charity’s Exeter home for most or all of the year.

WESC Foundation’s School and College remains open. All the children in education have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). Over 20 young adults in the charity’s St David’s House care home and support living accommodation call WESC Foundation their home.
