Four ways to support WESC Foundation in 2019
2 January 2019
New Year’s Resolutions
With 2019 stretched out ahead of us like a blank canvas, there’s no better time to plan your New Year’s Resolutions.
If you’ve already given up on the gym, ditched the diet, or just want to do something a little different that will help others, then we’ve got a few easy ideas to get you started.
All of our WESC Foundation Resolutions will help support our work with visually impaired children and young people, and make a difference to their lives.
Declutter your wardrobe
Looking to slim down your fashion collection, or make way for 2019’s new styles? Why not have a clear-out of your old clothes and donate them to one of our five charity shops in Exeter and East Devon?
If you’re not in the area you can also donate to WESC Foundation when selling items on eBay, or buying items directly from our very own eBay store.
Give some of your time as a volunteer
Volunteering at WESC Foundation means helping us to ensure our young people lead full and independent lives.
It will give you the chance to try out something new, meet like-minded people and help develop your skills whilst carrying out the worthwhile role of supporting visually impaired young people and adults.
There are plenty of opportunities to get involved, from working in our charity shops or joining the board of trustees, to helping with collections or gardening at our West Hill horticulture site.
Challenge yourself with a skydive
Nothing will clear the cobwebs quite like parachuting out of a plane at 15,000ft! Experience a tandem skydive courtesy of Skydive Buzz (based just outside Exeter in the beautiful Devon countryside) and raise money for WESC Foundation at the same time.
Organise a fundraising event
Whether it’s a coffee morning and cake sale, sponsored abseil, charity raffle or zany fancy dress day, there’s plenty of inspiration in our A-Z of Fundraising Ideas.
