End of term arrangements: Spring 2019
25 March 2019
Here is a reminder about end of term arrangements:
- The last day will be Friday 5th April with finishing times of 1.00pm for School students, and College students can leave from 1.00pm, although support is available until 4.00pm if needed.
- The College will reopen on Tuesday 23rd April (Monday is a bank holiday), when residential students will be welcome to book in from 8.00am, and from 8.45am for day students.
- The School will also reopen on Tuesday 23rd April, when students should arrive from 11.00am at St David’s Reception.
- Please note that transport for non-residential students should not arrive before the elected start time (8.45am for College and 11.00am for School) as WESC Foundation staff will not be available to support students until then. Drivers and escorts may be asked to wait until support is available, unless prior arrangements have been made.
Transport providers are aware of the timings, but I know many students have very individual start and finish times. Please let your transport provider, as well as the relevant residential staff or tutor, know if you change your transport arrangements. Please note, this does not apply to residents in St David’s House (Maple, Mulberry or Ash Lodges) other than to ask you to inform staff of any dates young people may be going home and returning to WESC Foundation over the break.
Parent consultation and WESC’s Got Talent
All parents are warmly invited to join us on 5th April, the last day of term. For parents of students who are in education, we will be holding parent consultation meetings. Coffee will be available from 9.00am in the Main Hall and consultations will be from 9.45am to 11.00am. You can make an appointment to discuss progress with the tutors and teachers and discuss any residential issues with the care and support team.
At 11.15am we have WESC’s Got Talent for all parents to attend, which is a great event where the young people and some staff share their talents with us all. It’s always a joyous and inspiring event, and we would love you to share it with us.
After the talent show (at approximately 1.00pm), parents are invited to have a sandwich lunch while the young people have their lunch and get ready to leave for the holidays. You will have received a ParentMail Form to complete regarding booking consultation meetings or you can contact Jane Feesey or Kim Cottle (firstname.lastname@example.org – 01392 454298). If you are not involved in the consultations, but wish to attend WESC’s Got Talent at 11.15am, please contact Amanda Gorfin (email@example.com – 01392 454201).
Contacting WESC Foundation during the holidays
If you need to speak to a member of staff during the Easter break, please contact Reception on 01392 454200, or for out-of-hours emergencies contact the duty manager on 07964 120340. Reception opening hours are 8.00am to 12.00noon during the break and closed on 19th April and 22nd April for the bank holidays. Alternatively, you can email WESC Reception (firstname.lastname@example.org) and they will deal with your enquiry as soon as possible.
