Have you considered donating unwanted shares? ShareGift can re-register shares and donate them to WESC Foundation.
Help us transform lives today by donating shares
Turn your unwanted shares and support young people with vision impairment and complex needs who often face barriers to learning, living and taking an active, independent place in society.
Making a donation of shares to charity is a valuable source of income for us. The funds generated help support a wide range of projects which might include:
Adapted household equipment such as a talking microwave or a liquid level indicator
Occupational therapy tools
All of these projects combat barriers to participation and advocate empowerment and independence enabling our young people to live, not just exist. A simple act such as independently making a hot drink is something most of us take for granted. Having the right tools to enable our young people to do this enhances feelings of self esteem and confidence. In turn, it opens up a dialogue about making choices, and provides opportunities for young people to develop key life skills.
What is ShareGift?
ShareGift is a unique charity specialising in accepting smaller number of shares that they donate to different charities based on donor suggestion. And you can benefit too. Donating shares can be tax efficient as there is no capital gain or loss on shares donated to charity. You can also claim income relief on the value of shares.
ShareGift re-registers donated shares and collects them until there are enough to sell. Shares are sold regularly and the proceeds are donated to a wide range of UK-registered charities. Since ShareGift launched in 1996, they have generated millions of pounds for charity through donating shares.
