6 Things You Could Buy WESC Foundation This Christmas
2 December 2019
Christmas is a time for giving, right?
But it can be hard work to find just the right gift for all of the people in your life. So why not save yourself the hard work and donate to WESC Foundation instead?
You can even donate in someone’s name as a Christmas gift to them!
What can I buy WESC Foundation this Christmas?
We’ve put together a helpful WESC Foundation Christmas Gift Guide, so however much you’re able to give us, you know it’s going towards something worthwhile.
Keep reading to find out what you could buy WESC Foundation this Christmas.
£5- Caring Knife
With a gift of £5 we could buy a caring knife for our young people to use in the kitchen. This would enable them to safely prepare and eat their own meals, increasing their independence and quality of life.
£10- Liquid Level Indicator
If you donated £10 we could buy a liquid level indicator for our young people to use when making drinks. A liquid level indicator attaches the side of a glass and beeps when the liquid reaches near the top. This would enable our young people to pour drinks, particularly hot liquids, safely and independently.
£20- Subscription to Calibre Audio Library
With a gift of £20 we could buy a subscription to Calibre Audio Library which offers unabridged audio books for children and adults with visual impairments and other disabilities. This would provide our young people with an enriching reading experience they may otherwise have missed out on.
£30- Communication Switch
If you gave us a gift of £30 we could buy a communication switch to aid our young people in communicating their choices. Switches enable our young people with limited communication skills to exercise their agency and independence by communicating with our care staff.
£50- Mobility Cane
With a kind donation of £50 we could buy a mobility cane to enable one of our young people to travel independently. We offer one-to-one specialist mobility training at WESC Foundation, and buying a mobility cane will allow us to help another young person learn to move around the world safely.
£100- Horse Riding Helmet
With a generous gift of £100 we could buy a horse riding helmet to enable one of young people to take part in Riding for the Disabled. This would allow them to have a life enhancing experience they may not have otherwise been able to have, and enables them to participate in a safe and healthy physical activity.
