4 ways to support WESC Foundation in October

5 October 2020

Send us a text

The easiest way to support WESC Foundation is to simply text WESC 7 to 70085 to donate £7.

£7 could buy a supply of Braille paper to help a child in our school learn a life-changing skill. Or even buy a float to support a wheelchair-bound young adult in our hydrotherapy pool while they build up their strength.

Texts cost £7 plus one standard rate message. You’ll be opting in to hear more about our work and fundraising via telephone and SMS. If you’d like to give £7 but do not wish to receive marketing communications, text WESCNOINFO 7 to 70085.

“They’ve gone from needing support from me (or one of the floats) to being able to swim and float independently for almost a length. That’s amazing progress!”

Sponsor Sally (or Beth, or Scott, or any of our skydivers)

Staff member Sally Cox standing outside St Davids House

Several of our brave staff, friends and family members are taking part in a tandem skydive day later in October (COVID-19 permitting!).

The money raised will help ensure that children and young adults with visual impairment and complex needs can live their best life.

It’s all part of breaking down the barriers that are often in place for young adults because of their complex needs or vision impairment.

Go sober for October (or try another challenge)

Drinking less this month? Planning on starting that Couch to 5k again?

Why not challenge yourself to raise money to support children and young adults with visual impairment?

£210 of sponsorship could buy a portable communication aid that will help a child with complex needs to start making choices about their daily life and share them with their family and carers.

Fundraise for us.

“Who would think that a simple device could make such a big difference for her.
She’s much more sociable, and enjoys hanging out with her friends just like any other teenager”.

Shop in our charity shops or eBay store

Next time you’re in Exeter or East Devon why not head into one of our charity shops to see if you can grab a bargain. You can find your nearest shop online.

Not in the area? Browse the WESC Foundation eBay store from the comfort of your sofa.

Profits from our shops are reinvested back into the charity to support our vital work.

We also use our charity shops to offer vital work experience opportunities to our young people as part of preparations for independent living in the community.
