Sight loss is no barrier to Moorvision children!

WESC Foundation and Moorvision have a close working relationship. Moorvision is a voluntary support group in Devon for families with children or young people (0-25 years) who are blind or visually impaired. They also welcome visually impaired (VI) parents, grandparents and carers of VI or fully sighted children.

Moorvision has 112 families in the group and the children have a wide range of visual impairments and some have additional needs and/or multiple disabilities.

WESC Foundation supports Moorvision wherever possible by providing activities for their young people, advice when needed and discounts on services such as entrance fees to WESC’s Annual International Conference. Many young people from Moorvision attend the school or college at WESC.

The aim of Moorvision is to provide support and information and reduce the isolation so often felt by VI children, parents and their families which is especially important in very rural and often isolated areas in the South West of England.

Moorvision offers:

  • Regular family days out
  • Parent and carer evenings
  • Parent and carer training days
  • Residential trips away
  • Newsletter
  • Comprehensive database of information
  • Website
  • Facebook page
